Does MPG in cars/trucks increase or decrease in cold weather?

I’ve noticed a difference in my cars, whether 4 or 6 cylinder, that i tend to get worse gas mileage when it’s cold outside, even after the engines are warmed up. What do you all think?

thy burn more fuel. I think it is because it makes it harder for the fuel to vaporize completely as it enters the cylinder and hits the cooler air.
