What is the best performing, most reliable new ’07 or ’08 car between 10 and 20 thousand dollars?
I currently drive a ’95 Corolla but it is reaching 200,000 miles and starting to come to its end. I am looking to get a new car and am considering getting a new Corolla because I am familiar with them, but I don’t want to be pigeon held to just one car. I was hoping to find out what other drivers thought was the best new vehicles out there between $10 and $20 thousand dollars. Reliability and performance are what is most important to me.
I am looking for as much detail as I can get, and for specific cars and models not just broad strokes i.e. American or Foreign. Thank you very much to all that are willing to help me.
Performance wise the Honda Civic will be tops. Better acceleration, better fuel economy, and better handling. As far as reliability, between the Corolla and the Civic, that is a wash. The Civic Si will give you the most bang, but you will lose fuel economy. I would look at the EX as that gives you disc brakes all the way around. As far as where they are made, both the Corolla and the Civic are made in the states. So you support the US workers and get a high quality vehicle at the same time. And there is nothing wring with the Corolla, it sounds like you have a good maintenance system for a Toyota.
